“Carry yourself with dignity and integrity.”
WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO PURSUE A CAREER IN ACTING?
When I was three years old. I remember this one night when the whole family was – as usual – in front of the TV and we were watching some programme, and there was some song and dance going on and I just thought to myself “wow, that’s what I want to do when I grow up”, I just wanted to be in front of people and perform. I do believe this was my first Moment in Light that I ever experienced.
WHAT’S THE BEST ADVICE THAT YOU HAVE EVER BEEN GIVEN?
“Always listen to your mother.” My mother is definitely the one woman who completely inspired me throughout my life. She’s beautiful, she was a career woman she is level-headed and elegant and romantic at the same time. She’s everything I want to be and I think she’s, well she’s definitely played a very important role in shaping me to become who I am today. And I can’t thank her enough for it.
HOW DO YOU FEEL TO BE A PART OF THE MOMENTS IN LIGHT PROJECT?
It’s an incredible honour to be part of a platform that celebrates talented women and what we each do in our craft.
WHAT PART OF THE SHOOT WITH MARY MCCARTNEY DID YOU ENJOY THE MOST?
It’s incredibly exciting to be working with Mary again – we worked together more than 3 years ago. She radiates a kind, gentle energy and so being in front of her camera was so easy and fun. I think Mary really has a natural ability to bring out the most beautiful side of her subjects.
HOW DO YOU HOPE TO KEEP INSPIRING WOMEN IN THE FUTURE IN THE SAME WAY THAT OTHER WOMEN HAVE INSPIRED YOU?
It’s important to carry yourself with dignity and integrity, not just as a woman, but as a human being. In my work and my career, I have tried to stay true to myself in terms of my work ethic, my demands on myself to do the best that I can and to treat others with respect.
The diversity of women and talents that is being recognized in the Moments in Light campaign speaks volumes of what each and every one of us can hope to achieve, and inspire others to achieve.
